Japan's GDP revised down to annual 1.5 pct growth in Q4

Annualized economy growth of Japan for the fourth quarter of 2014 was downgraded to 1.5 percent from an earlier preliminary read of 2.2 percent increase, the Japanese government said Monday.

While inflation-adjusted gross domestic product for the reporting quarter was also revised down to a 0.4 percent increase from the previous quarter, compared with a 0.6 percent read in a preliminary report released last month by Japan's Cabinet Office.

Local reports said the GDP data showed that the country has emerged from a technical recession in the previous two quarters after the sales tax hike in April. Endi
