Xinhua, March 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Experts from the Visegrad Four countries will meet in Slovakia between April 14 to 16 to proceed in preparing a joint European Union V4 Battle Group, local media reported on Sunday.

Approximately 60 representatives from the V4 countries, referring to four central European countries including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, will gather here for the eighth planning conference, according to news agency TASR.

The agenda of the conference includes evaluating current tasks and agreeing on the Common Challenge 2015 certification training plan.

"Certification training that will examine the compatibility of the units for their joint deployment is planned to take place in the second half of this year. It's important, therefore, to prepare everything as early as during Slovak presidency in order to make the project successful," Slovak Defence Minister Martin Glvac was quoted as saying.

The country holding the V4 group's presidency changes in July each year. Slovak held the Presidency in July 2014.

Slovakia will contribute up to 560 soldiers, including a mechanized company with up to 155 soldiers. The battle group will also include a transport company, explosives experts and doctors.

Along with these contributions, The Slovak Armed Forces will take the lead in the field of protection from radiation, chemical and biological threats for the battle group. Enditem
