More than 25 years have passed since the names Prost and Senna shared one of Formula One's most celebrated intra-team rivalries at McLaren.
But the partnership is set to resume on March 22 in the first round of Brazil's 2015 Stock Car Series in Goiania.
Nicolas Prost and Bruno Senna will be on the same team sheet for Prati-Donaduzzi Racing, event organizers confirmed on Saturday.
Frenchman Prost is the son of four-time F1 world champion Alain and Senna the nephew of Brazil's three-time title winner Ayrton.
The pair will travel together to Brazil on March 16 after competing against each other in the Formula E - the world championship for electric vehicles - in Miami two days earlier.
"It's going to be a great experience," 33-year-old Prost said.
"We have known each other for a long time and we get along well. I confess that I still get goosebumps when I'm in pit lane and I see his helmet. It makes me remember my dad and Ayrton.
"A lot of people ask me about that [the rivalry]. But I like to remember that in the end they became good friends, despite the difficulty in being friends with somebody who has been your opponent for more than 10 years."
The race will be Senna's third Stock Car appearance. The 31-year-old also said he was looking forward to racing alongside Prost.
"It's going to be interesting to compare our driving in the telemetry," Senna said. "In some way it will recall the the battles between Ayrton and Alain, which were always great. I hope it's the same with us."
Despite the race's format requiring two drivers for each car, Senna and Prost have been paired with other team members by Prati-Donaduzzi officials.
Senna will join Antonio Pizzonia while Prost will team with Julio Campos. Endi
