Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni,along with his mother, former Queen Norodom Monineath, left Cambodia for Beijing, China, on Thursday for a regular medical checkup.

SYDNEY -- Australian Federal Police swooped on properties across Sydney on Thursday and arrested six men alleged to have imported 230 km of illegal drug worth 122 million U.S. dollars.

Police said a joint operation between authorities in Australia and Columbia had netted a combined total of more than half a ton of methamphetamine and cocaine from the international drug cartel. (Australia-Methamphetamine)

CANBERRA -- Australian authorities have returned an illegally exported Chinese statue, made during the Qing dynasty, after Customs officials seized the stolen figure at the border.

During a ceremony at the Chinese embassy in Canberra on Thursday, the statue of Guanyin, revered by Buddhists and Taoists, was handed over by the Australian government, in accordance with a bilateral commitment to return and protect cultural property.( Australia-Guanyin)

HO CHI MINH CITY -- H5N1 bird flu infection was found in Ke Sach district of Vietnam's southern Soc Trang province, with the fowls infected for less than 21 days, according to the Preventive Medicine Agency under the Ministry of Health on Thursday.

A report from the Soc Trang Veterinary Department said the reported H5N1-infected poultry were raised by a family in Dai Hai commune of the district, and more than 1,100 two-month-old fowls were culled while measures were applied to prevent the infection from further expansion, the Saigon Giai Phong Daily reported.( Vietnam-H5N1) Endi
