The Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday ended the controversy of its chief selector Moin Khan's visit to Casino in Australia before team's important world cup match last month, officials said.
The PCB chairman Shahryar Khan told media on Tuesday that the chapter of controversy has been closed completely after the chief selector's apology to the nation over the episode.
Earlier, the PCB had called back Moin Khan from the on-going cricket world cup being held in Australia and New Zealand after people in Pakistan protested over his visit to a casino in Christchurch on the eve of a group stage match.
"The PCB has accepted the plea of Moin who stated that he along with his wife went to a restaurant located inside a Casino for dining and nor he or his wife did gambling there," said Shaharyar after meeting with the chief selector.
Earlier, Moin also gave a written statement to the board accepting that "going to Casino was a mistake". However, the chairman confirmed that Moin will not go back to Australia to re- join the team, but he would continue performing the duty of chief selector.
On Sunday, Pakistan grabbed its first match victory by beating Zimbabwe off 20 runs after losing two consecutive contests against India and West Indies. Pakistan will take on United Arab Emirates in their fourth group match on Wednesday in Napier, New Zealand. Endi
