German benchmark DAX index drops 1.14 pct on Tuesday

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday fell by 130.00 points, or 1.14 percent, and closed at 11,280.36 points.

Trigger of the downturn in the market sentiment were the weakening U.S. stock exchanges, said the German business daily Handelsblatt.

Deutsche Lufthansa AG advanced the most by 0.85 percent. Chemical group Merck KGaA and Henkel AG & Co. KGaA Vz rose by 0.51 percent and 0.19 percent respectively. Beiersdorf Aktiengesellschaft added 0.17 percent.

BMW AG St dropped the most by 2.80 percent. Deutsche Borse AG, Continental AG, Volkswagen AG Vz and Deutsche Bank AG fell by 2.73 percent, 2.56 percent, 2.38 percent and 2.19 percent respectively. Endit
