Vietnamese minister launches Facebook page

Xinhua, March 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien launched her Facebook page, becoming the first cabinet member in Vietnam joining social network, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The page, administered by Tien, is used to update latest information relating the healthcare sector and receive the public' s opinion over healthcare, said the ministry.

Facebook is becoming more and more popular and the number of Facebook users in the country is increasing quickly, the Ministry of Health said.

Speaking on Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People's Army) newspaper, Tien said her ministry has made changes in communication. The ministry will provide information publicly and transparently.

According to the ministry, there are some counterfeit Facebook pages with inaccurate and unreliable information.

Earlier this year, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has stressed the importance of taking advantage of information on the internet to guide public opinion. Endi
