Singapore stocks close 0.54 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 18.22 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 3,422.11.

A total of 1.31 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 17 billion Singapore dollars (861 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 238 to 195, while 499 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 1.03 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 3,403.89 on Monday. Endi
