New round of nuclear talks opportunity for Iran: FM

Xinhua, March 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

The new round of negotiations between Iran and the world powers is an opportunity for immediate removal of sanctions against the country over its disputed nuclear program, Iran's Foreign Minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, was quoted as saying by Iran's Student News Agency (ISNA) on Tuesday.

In the previous talks, some solutions were offered to a number of existing problems over Iran's nuclear problem, Zarif said, adding that the new round of talks can also be an opportunity to resolve other technical issues as well as discussing the immediate removal of sanctions.

"With no doubt, the only option to settle the nuclear issue of Iran is through talks and there is no way other than this," he said on the sidelines of a UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva.

"We hope to take significant steps in the new round of talks," he added.

Representatives from Iran and the United States held bilateral talks over Tehran's nuclear program in the Swiss city of Montreux on Monday ahead of multilateral talks between Iran and the six world powers (the U.S., Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany) slated for Thursday. Endit
