China's national legislature has 2,964 deputies

The 12th National People's Congress (NPC) currently has 2,964 deputies, according to a statement issued by the NPC Standing Committee on Tuesday.
Liu Dongdong, a NPC deputy, has died of disease. The NPC Standing Committee mourned his death, said the statement.
The statement didn't mention the date of Liu's death.
Liu's qualification for NPC deputy has been terminated, it said. Endi
