MOSCOW -- The investigation into the death of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov is pursuing several lines, the Russian Investigative Committee said Saturday.

KABUL -- The death toll has risen to more than 250 while a number of others remain missing after avalanches struck parts of Afghanistan over the past couple of days, an official source said on Saturday.
"The latest data showed that 250 people died as a result of recent heavy snow avalanche and snowfall-related incidents across Afghanistan over the past five days," Deputy to Natural Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Mohammad Aslam Sahyas told local media. (Afghanistan-Avalanche)

ISLAMABAD -- Ten security personnel were injured when their convoy came under attack in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of South Waziristan on Saturday afternoon, local media reported.
ARY News said that the convoy which was on its way from South Waziristan to neighboring Dera Ismail Khan district was targeted by a remote controlled blast. (Pakistan-Blast)

BAGHDAD -- Bomb attacks and clashes with Islamic State (IS) militants on Saturday left a total of 41 people killed and some 102 others injured in central and eastern Iraq, security sources said.
The deadliest attacks occurred in Iraq's northern central province of Salahudin when three suicide car bombers backed by dozens of IS militants attacked positions of Iraqi army and allied Shiite militiamen in Sur-Shnas area near the city of Samarra, some 120 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
