Liaoning one win away from CBA finals

Liaoning beat Qingdao 112-103 to set up a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) semifinals here on Saturday.

Liaoning's shooting guard Lester Hudson had 28 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Liaoning's point guard Guo Ailun contributed 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while Deon Tompson added 17 points.

The two teams tied 22-22 in the first quarter before Hudson, the CBA MVP in regular season, showed his superior ability to score in the second quarter, having 15 points and 3 assists alone in the quarter.

What made it worse for Qingdao is their Iranian center Hamed Ehadadi had to be substituted for faint with 4:14 remaining into half time.

Guo Ailun scored 12 points in the third quarter to help Liaoning maintain their momentum to the victory.

Qingdao's guard Justin Dentmon finished with the game-high 37 points, six rebounds and five assits. Zhang Chengyu added 24 points and Tang Hai scored 10 points for Qingdao.
