Police identify gunman in Missouri shooting

Xinhua, February 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

A gunman, who gunned down seven people before killing himself in Tyrone, Missouri, on Thursday night, was identified as Joseph Jesse Aldridge by the authorities on Saturday.

The 36-year-old man, armed with a handgun, shot and killed seven people in four separate residences in the small town of Tyrone. Then he shot himself in his truck.

According to local police, Aldridge had "a minor criminal history."

The police said four of the seven slain victims were two married couples as well as cousins of Aldridge, but did not release the identities of the other three.

Aldridge's mother was also found dead in a fifth house, but the police said the old lady died of natural causes. Endi
