Back off HK, China tells other countries
Xinhua, February 27, 2015 Adjust font size:
China on Friday reaffirmed that Hong Kong affairs are China's domestic affairs and other countries have no right to interfere in.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei made the remarks in response to the recent British Foreign Ministry's six-monthly Report on Hong Kong Affairs.
Since Hong Kong's return in 1997, it has become a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China and Britain's so-called "duty" to Hong Kong does not exist, Hong said.
He said the principle of "one country, two systems" has allowed for great achievements to be made in Hong Kong, and that the Chinese central government will unswervingly implement that principle along with the Basic Law.
Hong said the Chinese central government will continue to support Hong Kong's democratic progress in accordance with the law. Endi
