Australian dollar falls sharply

Xinhua, February 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Australian dollar fell sharply in overnight following the release of positive U.S. economic news.

It was trading 77.94 U.S. cents on Friday morning, down from 78. 47 U.S. cents on Thursday.

Local analysts attributed this to falling petrol prices in the United States which saw the consumer price index down 0.7 percent in January. Endi
