Thai Airways has promised to compensate 11 people injured when a Thai Airways flight TG641 hit an air pocket en route from Japan to Thailand on Thursday.

The 11 injured people, including passengers and crew members, were taken to hospital after the plane reached Suvarnabhumi airport of Bangkok at 3:51pm Thursday.

President of Thai Airways Charamporn Jotikasthira was quoted by Bangkokpost as saying that Thai Airways promised to compensate those affected persons. However, he did not specify their nationalities, as well as the extent of their injuries.

Charamporn said the A340-600 jet, leaving from Narita airport at 10:45am local time, with 227 passengers, two pilots and 22 crew members on board, faced unpredictable weather conditions en route to Bangkok at 21,000 feet. Endi
