Iceland's company insolvencies decrease 12 pct year-on-year

Iceland's company insolvencies over the last 12 months stood at 811, decreasing 12 percent year-on-year in January 2015, according to the statistics issued on Thursday by Statistics Iceland.

The statistics showed there were 811 insolvencies from February 2014 to January 2015, 114 fewer than that in the same period from 2013 to 2014.

The highest number of insolvencies was 150 in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, but still a decrease of 13 percent, compared with the same period from 2013 to 2014.

The greatest decrease of insolvencies was 84 in Real estate activities, 33 percent over the previous 12-month period. Endit
