Iceland's CPI up 0.67 pct between January, February

Iceland's Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.67 percent as of the middle of February, according to statistics issued on Thursday by Statistics Iceland.
Based on the collected sample, the statistics showed the CPI in February was 4 22.1 points, increasing 0.67 percent since the middle of January.
Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 0.3 percent, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 2.0 percent, less housing costs.
Influencing the CPI were the winter sales coming to a close which caused an increase in prices of clothing and footwear by 5.8 percent, the cost of owner-occupied housing which rose by 1.24 percent, the costs associated with operation of personal transport equipment which rose by 1.4 percent, international airfares which declined by 8.7 percent, and prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages which declined by 0.7 percent.
Price statistics are based on price collection which takes place for at least one week in the middle of each month. The index is published around the second last day of the reference month. Endit
