Tokyo shares end higher by break

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher with the Nikkei stocks index hit a fresh near 15- year high Thursday on news that said Japan's public servant pension fund will boost investment in domestic shares.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 103.12 points, or 0. 55 percent, higher from Wednesday to 18,688.32, after briefly climbing to 18,694.74, its highest intraday level since April 2000.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 5.26 points, or 0.35 percent, to 1,512. 88. Endi
