Romanian passenger dies in airplane toilet

A Romanian citizen was found dead in the toilet of an airplane en route from Bogota to San Jose, capital of Costa Rica, Colombia's Avianca airline reported on Wednesday.

"Avianca regrets to inform that a Romanian passenger was found dead in the LR 697 flight operated today by its subsidiary LACSA between Bogota and San Jose," the Colombian airline said in a statement.

The commercial flight departed from Bogota at 8.01 a.m. local time (1301 GMT) and arrived in San Jose at 9:05 a.m. local time (1505 GMT),

where authorities at Juan Santamaria International Airport confirmed the passenger's death.

Avianca expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the Romanian citizen.

Costa Rican authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Endit
