Togo to hold presidential election on April 15

Togo decides to hold its 2015 presidential election on April 15, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

According to the statement, all candidates are entitled to 20 million Cfa francs deposit (about 34,593 U.S. dollars) for nomination to the presidential election.

Public funding of the campaign for all the candidates amounts to 600 million CFA Francs.

Conditions and terms of repatriation, which are not disclosed, "are set by a relevant decree", the statement said.

Faure Gnassingbe, incumbent head of state of Togo, is supposed to be nominated to run for a third presidential term. He came to power in 2005 and was re-elected in 2010. Endi
