The outcome of a potential nuclear deal between Iran and world powers over Tehran's nuclear issue should be removal of "oppressive and illegal sanctions" against the country, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday.

"We will maintain talks based on logical rationale." he said. "The negotiating party should know better. Iran will never relent in continuing its scientific progress."

Rouhani's words were an allusion to his earlier remarks that the West aimed to hinder scientific progress of Iran's nuclear program, which Tehran says is for peaceful purposes only.

Representatives from Iran and the P5+1 group, namely Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the U.S. concluded their latest round of talks in Geneva on Monday over Tehran's disputed nuclear program. Endit
