Persepolis beat Lekhwiya 3-0 in AFC Champions League

Iran's Persepolis trashed Qatar champions Lekhwiya 3-0 in the Group A opener of AFC Champions League at Tehran Azadi Stadium on Tuesday.

Persepolis defender Mohsen Bengar headed home on the 60th minute and Hadi Norozi scored the second goal on the 65th. The guest's third goal was from the penalty spot by Persepolis captain Mohammad Noori with seven minutes remaining.

Lekhwiya coach Michael Laudrup said Iran's Persepolis is a different team in the AFC Champions League than Iranian domestic league.

Persepolis coach and players have under pressure over the unsatisfactory results in Iran's Supper league matches in the current season.
