Albanian gov't pays 326 mln USD in arrears

The Albanian Ministry of Finance has paid around 40.5 billion leks (326 million U.S. dollars) until the third week of February this year to companies included in the ministry's payment strategy as part of unpaid government bills and arrears, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported on Tuesday.

Total funds allocated by the Albanian Ministry of Finance under this strategy amounts to 44.5 billion leks.

In addition, by the end of 2013 the ministry had allocated 3 billion leks for unpaid public works and overdue refundable taxes and 1.9 billion leks for delayed payments for people with disabilities. (1 U.S. dollar = 124 leks) Enditem
