Naft Tehran loses to Pakhtakor 2-1 in AFC tourney

Iran's Naft Tehran was defeated by Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor 2-1 in Group B of the AFC Champions League on Tuesday, Tasnim news agency reported.

In the match held in Tashkent, Kakhi Makharadze of Pakhtakor found the back of the net with a header in the 48th minute.

Pakhtakor was reduced to 10 men in the 51st minute after Sherzod Karimov was shown a red card.

Eight minutes later Ali Ghorbani equalized the match with a left-footed shot.

With five minutes remaining, Igor Sergeev scored the winner for Pakhtakor.

In another match of the group, Al Ain of the UAE will meet Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Endi
