5 militants killed in N. Afghanistan

Five militants had been killed as security forces raided a Taliban hideout in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province with Kunduz city as its capital 250 km north of Kabul on Sunday, police said.

"Acting upon intelligence report, units of police attacked Taliban hideout in Tajlaqi area, killing five insurgents," police spokesman in the province, Sayed Sarwar Hussaini told reporters.

There were no casualties on security personnel and civilians, the official said.

Meanwhile, the official confirmed that militants attacked and killed a police constable in the neighboring Khanabad district.
