Iceland's wage index records 0.7 pct increase in Jan.

Iceland's wage index reported a month-on-month increase of 0.7 percent in January 2015, according to Statistics Iceland on Friday.

The figures showed that the wage index in January was 498.1, increasing by 0.7 percent compared with 494.6 in December 2014.

In the past 12 months, the monthly wage index has increased by 6.3 percent.

The real wage index in January was 121.9, increasing by 1.4 percent compared with that of the previous month.

In the past 12 months, the real wage has increased by 5.5 percent. Agreements between the state and municipalities with some state workers unions are said to have affected the wage index in January. Endit
