French stock market up 0.71 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.71 percent to close at 4,833.28 points on Thursday, up 34.25 points.

This is CAC 40's first close above 4,800 points since June 2008.

By closing, seven of the 40 selected companies gained advance.

The top three gainers of Thurday were Cap Gemini, up 4.86 percent, Essilor Intl., up 4.33 percent, and Orange SA, up 2.75 percent.

The three companies which lost most were Total, 2.72 percent, Arcelormittal, 2.02 percent, and Technip, 1.16 percent

In previous trading day, the CAC 40 experienced an advance of 0.95 percent, or 12.78 points, to close at 4,799.03 points. Endit
