Xinhua, February 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Foreign buyers continued to increase their holdings of U.S. Treasury securities in December, but the two largest holders trimmed their shares, U.S. Treasury Department said Wednesday.

The total foreign holdings rose to 6.154 trillion U.S. dollars in December, compared with 6.112 trillion U.S. dollars in November, the department said in the Treasury International Capital report.

China, the largest foreign buyer of the Treasury debt, cut its holdings by 6.1 billion dollars to 1.24 trillion dollars, while Japan, the second largest holder, reduced 10.6 billion dollars to 1.231 trillion dollars, the report showed. Endite
