Four Tunisian soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack early Wednesday, in Kasserine in the mid-west of the country, near the Algerian borders, local media reported.

According to reports, the soldiers were killed during a security patrol, near the Chaambi Mountain, which is a stronghold of Islamist militants from the Ansar al-Sharia group.(Tunisia-Attack)

TIKRIT, Iraq -- At least six security members were killed and 19 others wounded on Wednesday in a suicide car bomb attack in Iraq's northern central province of Salahudin, a provincial security source said.

A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a checkpoint manned by soldiers and Shiite militiamen at the entrance of a military base, just west of the city of Samarra, some 120 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Attack)

ADEN, Yemen -- About six army personnel were killed and three others injured when armed tribesmen attacked an oil company in Yemen's southeastern province of Hadramout on Wednesday evening, a security official told Xinhua.

"A group of armed tribesmen carried out an attack on a foreign oil company based in Hadramout province, killing about six army soldiers in charge of guarding the institution headquarters," the local security official said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Attack)

ISTANBUL -- About 15,000 people turned out in a large demonstration in southern Turkish city of Mersin on Wednesday, protesting the murder of a 20-year-old female university student last week.

Many university students, members of various civil society organizations and local residents attended the protest. The crowd shouted slogans against the perpetrators of Aslan Ozgecan's murder and the increasing number of violent incidents against women across Turkey. (Turkey-Demonstration) Endit
