Nikkei drops slightly on profit-taking, Greece concerns

Tokyo stocks dropped 0.10 percent Tuesday as profit taking and uncertainty over Greece's debt negotiations weighed on market sentiment.

The 225-issue index was down 17.68 points, or 0.10 percent, from Monday at 17,987.09. But the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 2.64 points, or 0.18 percent, to 1,462.07.

Major declining industry sectors included mining and banking, while iron and steel led gainers.

The turnover was 2,249.4 billion yen (about 18.98 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
