Nikkei drops slightly in morning on profit taking, Greece talks

Xinhua, February 17, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks ended slightly lower in the morning session of Tuesday on profit taking following the previous day's more than seven-year closing high and uncertainty over Greece's debt negotiations.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 43.58 points, or 0. 24 percent, from Monday to 17,961.19. But the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 0. 41 point, or 0.03 percent, to 1,459.84.

Declining industry groups were led by mining, foods and chemicals, while major gainers included land transport and brokerage. Endi
