Tokyo stocks open lower on profit taking, Greece concerns

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower early Tuesday on profit taking and uncertainty over Greece's bailout talks.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 72.84 points, or 0.40 percent, from Monday to 17,931.93.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 4.38 points, or 0.30 percent, to 1,455. 05.

Major declining industry groups included rubber, metal products and precision instruments. Endi
