Xinhua, February 17, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chris Kaunda, head coach of the Zambia under-17 national soccer team admitted on Monday that his players did not play well in their first game at the ongoing Africa Youth Championship but promised to bounce back.

The junior Chipolopolo lost 1-0 to Guinea in their first game in Group A on Sunday night in Niger.

"After we talked to the boys at half time, you saw how we played. We missed three good chances but of course that is water under the bridge," he told the country's soccer governing body website, fazfootball.com.

Zambia's next game is against host Niger on Wednesday February, 18.

The other team Group A is Nigeria while Group B has Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mali and South Africa. The semi-finalists will qualify for the World Junior Championship set for Chile in October this year. Endite
