Britisn FTSE 100 falls slightly on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday fell by 0.24 percent, or 16.47 points, to 6,857.05 points.

Silver miner Fresnillo led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.38 percent, followed by Intertek Group (3.35 percent), Centrica (2.86 percent), Capita (1.99 percent) and Admiral Group (1.99 percent).

While Tullow Oil's share price increased by 3.75 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Antofagasta, Coca-Cola HBC, SABMiller and Aberdeen Asset Management increased by 2.60 percent, 2.41 percent, 1.91 percent and 1.87 percent respectively.

Trading in FTSE 100 companies Monday was around 40 percent lower the 30-day average. The index has gained 4.77 percent so far this year in U.S. dollar term. Endit
