Latvia to send civilian experts to UN peacekeeping missions

Latvia is planning to become involved in UN peacekeeping missions with its civilian experts, Baltic News Service reported citing information from the Latvia's foreign ministry.

Under the government's five-year action plan, adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, Latvia intends to ensure its involvement in international processes by taking part in UN-led missions, the foreign ministry said.

Latvia plans to send at least one expert to a UN-led mission by the end of 2016 and to increase the presence of Latvian experts in such missions in subsequent years. Endite
