Nigeria's police in northwest state of Kano on Sunday confirmed the killing of two gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members.

Magaji Majiya, spokesperson for the state police command, said the incident happened around 5.30 p.m. local time on Saturday when six gunmen stormed the police station on two motorcycles.

He said the police repelled the attack, adding that one of the gunmen was killed during an exchange of fire while the other was lynched by the community while trying to escape. (Nigeria-Attack)

MOSCOW -- Leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will hold a teleconference on Sunday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.

BERLIN -- The German city of Braunschweig cancelled a carnival parade on Sunday because of a "concrete endangerment by an attack with Islamist background", German media reported.

The police has requested all visitors "not to come to the parade route or even not to make the trip to Braunschweig," German media Focus Online reported.

Reliable sources of Germany's state security apparatus believed there was a specific threat by an attack with Islamist background, according to the report. (Germany-Parade-Threat)

NEW DELHI -- India has refused to invest more in a trilateral transport infrastructure project with Iran and Afghanistan catering for the transportation of Afghan mineral goods by the Iranian port Chabahar, said local media Sunday.

The Indian Express quoted government sources here as saying that India has rejected an Iranian demand to increase investment on the project during a visit by Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to Teheran last week.

New Delhi is worried that situation in Afghanistan is unfavorable for continuing the project after the pullout of U.S.- led NATO troops taking into account a sharp escalation in fighting across Afghanistan, said the report. (India-Joint Project-Investment Refusal) Endi
