Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Asif Ali Zardari, former Pakistani president and co-chairperson of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) here on Friday.

Speaking highly of Zardari's contributions to China-Pakistan friendship, Wang said the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership is the result of efforts of generations of leaders of both sides.

Various parties of Pakistan, including the PPP, have made positive contributions to bilateral friendly relations, he said.

China highly values its friendly relationship with the PPP, and is willing to carry out party-to-party exchanges with the party, the foreign minister said, adding it is hoped and believed that the PPP will continue to be a staunch supporter of China-Pakistan friendship.

For his part, Zardari vowed that his party will continue to vigorously push forward the development of Pakistan-China ties.

China has provided great help to Pakistan and has played a significant role in promoting economic development of its neighbors and maintaining regional peace, the ex-president said. Endi
