Tokyo stocks end 0.37 pct lower on profit-taking, stronger yen

Tokyo stocks ended 0.37 percent lower Friday as a stronger yen weighed on exporters.

The 225-issue benchmark ended down 66.36 points from Thursday at 17,913.36.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 0.01 point or 0.00 percent lower at 1,449.38.

Major declining industry groups included glass and ceramics, utilities and airlines.

The turnover was 2,686.88 billion yen (about 22.67 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
