Shallow quake hits Aceh, Indonesia

An undersea quake of 5.5 magnitude rocked Aceh province, Indonesia on Friday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.

The quake struck at 10:21 a.m. Jakarta time (0321 GMT) with epicenter at 365 km northwest Simeuleu island and with the depth at 10 km under sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua via phone.

Indonesia is prone to quake as it sits on a vulnerable quake- hit zone called "the Pacifi Ring of Fire". Endi
