Strong early demand for Volvo's latest SUV model

Xinhua, February 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Car manufacturer Volvo has received 16,000 orders for its latest SUV model, the brand new seven-seat XC90, before its appearance in showrooms, the company announced on Thursday.

"These strong order numbers are very encouraging and it shows that customers obviously like what they see in the new XC90," said Hakan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Cars.

The renewed XC90 incorporates Volvo's own range of new technologies and utilizes its new Scalable Product Architecture technology and Drive-E powertrain family, the company said in a statement.

Series production of the new XC90 at Volvo's Torslanda plant in western Sweden started in January, and deliveries to customers will begin this spring. Enditem
