Singapore Airlines cuts fuel surcharges

Xinhua, February 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Singapore Airlines (SIA) said on Thursday that it will reduce its fuel surcharges for tickets issued on or after Feb. 26.

According to news release from SIA, the reduced fuel surcharges will apply to Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights. Fuel surcharges for various sectors will see decreases of between 6.8 Singapore dollars (5 U.S. dollars)and 113 Singapore dollars(or 83 U.S. dollars) per sector.

As oil prices slumped in the past few months, Asian airlines are slashing fuel surcharges. But Brent prices have recovered by as much as 30 percent from a mid-January low of 45.19 U.S. dollars a barrel, which was the lowest since 2009. Endi
