Vietnam will compete in the cycling Asian Challenge 2015, which will be held in Sepang of Malaysia in April, announced the Vietnam Cycling Federation (VCF) on Thursday.

The Asian Challenge is a reputable championship in Southeast Asia for cyclists, and it will be the first time Vietnam has a representative to compete in the tournament, which is expected to provide Vietnamese athletes opportunity to horn their skill in the international arena, thus making contributions to the country' s sport sector, said VCF.

To prepare for the above-mentioned regional championship, the VCF and southern BenTre province' s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department will co-organize the National Suzuki Raider R150 Motorcycling Championship 2015, scheduled to be held on March 8 in Ben Tre province.

Racers will compete in both the professional and semi-professional categories. The best cyclist of the event will become Vietnam' s representative to compete in Asian Challenge 2015, said VCF. Endi
