Nigeria's oil rich state signs water project MoU with EU

Xinhua, February 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Nigeria's oil-rich Bayelsa State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with European Union (EU) to promote water projects, a local official said Tuesday.

The MoU was signed during the official launch of the Bayelsa EU- Assisted Niger-Delta Support Project (Water and Sanitation Component) in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Earlier, Kate Kanebi, the Project Officer of EU on Water and Sanitation, Food and Environment, said the project was part of a wider EU-support program covering five states in the Niger Delta region.

Bayelsa has one of the largest crude oil and natural gas deposits in the West African country. Endi
