Chadian soldier found dead in northern Cameroon

Xinhua, February 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

A Chadian soldier was on Tuesday found dead with a rope around his neck in a unmanned area in Kousseri, a town in Cameroon's Far-North Region bordering Chad's capital N'Djamena.

Military sources who declined to be named told Xinhua the incident is confusing. "We still don't know what happened. The body was taken to the morgue in the hospital of Kousseri," the sources said.

According to the sources, the dead man was a soldier, but he didn't belong to the troops who came to fight against Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram.

Since mid-January, a contingent of 2,500 Chadian soldiers are working together with Cameroonian soldiers to fight against Boko Haram. Some of the Chadian troops station in Maltam, 30 km away from Kousseri. Endi
