Baby, young girl survive Australian car crash that kills mother

Xinhua, February 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

A baby and young child have survived a car crash, which killed their mother in the southern part of New South Wales, police said on Tuesday.

Police said the woman's husband went to Bega police station about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, saying he had last spoken to his wife earlier that morning and she had not returned home with their two daughters.

An hour later, a car was reported to be on its roof on the southern outskirts of Bega.

Police found the woman dead in the driver's seat, and a four- month-old and a two-year-old in the back seat, alive with minor injuries.

The girls were taken to Bega District Hospital for observation.

The family had just moved to the country town from Sydney to start a new life. Endi
