Vietnam's top tennis player aims to compete in upcoming Roland Garros

Vietnam's top tennis player, Ly Hoang Nam, aimed to compete in the junior championship of the French Open, the second Grand Slam of the year, according to the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) on Monday.
The national number-one player, born in 1997, who is 70th in the world junior rankings with 336.88 points, is under hard training in order to compete in several international tournaments to collect more points for a ticket to the clay court tournament at Roland Garros.
Nam was scheduled to take part in the Chang Thailand ITF, from March 2-7 in Nonthaburi, and the Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup (I) Junior Tennis Championships, from March 17-23 in Malaysia, with a goal of advancing to at least the semifinal rounds in both events, said VTF.
The Roland Garros is scheduled to begin on May 24 in Paris. Earlier, Nam earned his second round slot in the junior Australian Open, according to VTF. Endi
