Thai airforce chief visits Cambodia to strengthen ties

Xinhua, February 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Treetod Sonjance, paid a two-day visit to Cambodia on Monday in a bid to promote ties and cooperation between the two neighbours.

Treetod met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tea Banh on Monday and both sides pledged to focus in cooperation in human resources development.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Tea Banh said Treetod' s visit was to bolster relations and cooperation between the air forces of the two countries.

"We discussed capacity building for air forces through exercises and training courses," he said.

"Thai side also promised to continue offering scholarships to Cambodian Air Force cadets."

Earlier in the day, Treetod met with Soeung Samnang, commander of the Royal Cambodian Air Force.

Treetod was appointed as the Thai airforce chief in October last year. Endi
