Local press on Sunday highlighted the 2-1 victory of Argentina's U-20 national soccer team against Uruguay in the final of South American Youth Football Championship played on Saturday.

With this result, Argentina's U-20 team is qualified to Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.

Local daily "La Nacion" said "with strong conviction, the youth team became champion and qualified to Olympic Games" in the match played in Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay.

With this result, Argentina's youth team also got a ticket for 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in New Zealand from May 30 to June 20.

"La Nacion" also stressed the team reached its fifth South American championship after 12 years. The previous ones were Paraguay 1967, Chile 1997, Argentina 1999 and Uruguay 2003.

Uruguayan player Gaston Pereiro scored the first goal at minute 7 but Argentines Sebastian Driussi and Angel Correa turned the score with two goals at minute 35 and 81 respectively.

The coach of U-20 is Humberto Grondona, son of deceased Julio Grondona, who was president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

"Argentina is champion" wrote daily "El Clarin", adding that Angel Correa was the best player of the championship. Correa played in San Lorenzo de Almagro (Argentina) and now he is part of Atletico de Madrid (Spain).

The leading scorer of the tournament was Giovanni Simeone, player of River Plate (Argentina), with nine goals.

Argentina's U-20 will return to the category's World Cup after being absent twice.

The Argentine youth team has won Olympic gold medal twice in Greece 2004 and Beijing 2008. Endi
