Peaceful protests in Sarajevo mark first anniversary of violent clashes

Some 100 people held protest on Saturday in front of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to mark the first anniversary of violent clashes in February 2014.

The protesters, holding banners, gathered near the Presidency Building, with dozens of police officers on guard. The process was peaceful, and there were no clashes. Traffic went smoothly at the main street in front of the Presidency Building.

On Feb. 7, 2014, police and protesters clashed violently, with some 200 people injured, most of them police officers, and dozens of building set on fire, including the Presidency Building and Sarajevo Canton Government Building.

BiH police on Friday established the Operation Headquarters to deal with possible violence. Enditem
